PORT HOOD RV CO-OPERATIVE LIMITED

BOARD OF DIRECTORS:  President Vincent van Zutphen, Vice-President Donald MacDonald, Secretary JR MacDonald, Treasurer Howard MacDonald, Director Michael Trenholm, Director JP Morris, Director Francis Gillies

A BRIEF HISTORY: Three years ago, The Port Hood and District Recreation Commission began to explore the possibility of developing an RV Park on the property surrounding the Al MacInnis Sports Centre. As energy costs continue to increase in an area with a decreasing population, the Board felt that something had to be done to ensure the future of the facility and the vital service it provides the youth of Port Hood and surrounding communities.

Shortly thereafter, the Board hired the Foresight Management Group to conduct a feasibility study on the proposed project, which ultimately determined that an RV Park was not only possible, but was indeed a sound business venture.

In April of 2006, the committe that was formed to pursue development was officially incorporated as Port Hood RV Co-operative Ltd and consisted of seven dedicated interim board members, all of whom are listed above.

The Board began working closely with the NS Co-op Council to prepare its investement offering so that it met the necessary government standards. On September 15 2006 official permission to solicit investments from the public was finally received from the Nova Scotia Securities Commission.

The Co-op has currently sold 95 shares.  Invitalional tenders were sent out. Construction began June 12/07.

Now 55 fully serviced sites have been constructed, a number of seasonal sites leased and some other bookings made. Come mid May we will be set to go. The washroom-laundromat building will also be complete.

A Second Offering of shares has realized an additional 51 shares valued at $255,000. Plans for the entire park will now be completed and the next phase will be started.
